Which One's You?

Most slow leaks start at an edge, a join or a penetration. Tell us where the water shows up and we'll tell you where it probably gets in.

Leak near a skylight

Nearly always the flashing or the perished seal around it, not the skylight itself. Resealed or re-flashed in a short visit.

Stain where a wall meets the roof

Step or apron flashing that has lifted or was never dressed properly. We re-flash and seal the junction.

Water in a valley line

Corroded or undersized valley irons let concentrated flow under the tiles or sheets. Replaced with the right width and overlap.

Loose or cracked ridge caps

Pointing has failed and the caps are moving. Re-bedded and re-pointed with flexible pointing so it lasts.

Rotten or sagging fascia

Fascia takes the gutter load. Once it's rotten the gutters sag and leak. We replace the fascia and re-hang the gutters properly.

Rust at the roof edge

Barge and rake flashings corrode first on exposed edges. Replaced with custom-folded Colorbond or Zincalume to match.

Every Edge and Penetration

Flashings, Fascia, Valleys & Ridges.

Custom-folded on site to suit your roof profile and sealed to current standards, whether it's a new build, an extension or a 40-year-old leak.

Flashing Installation

New flashings for re-roofs, extensions and new penetrations, custom-folded in Colorbond or Zincalume.

Skylights & Vents

Skylight, whirlybird, vent, aerial and electrical penetration flashings resealed or replaced.

Barge, Rake & Fascia

Edge cappings and fascia replaced and resealed so water stops tracking back under the sheeting.

Valleys & Ridges

Valley irons replaced, ridge and hip caps re-bedded and re-pointed with flexible pointing.

Full-Service Flashing and Fascia

From Skylight Seals to Valley and Ridge Lines. Every Roof Edge Properly Protected.

Flashing Installation

New flashing comes into play during re-roofs, renovations, extensions and new builds. We custom-fold and fit flashings that seal properly the first time and stay that way.

  • Flashing for extensions and new penetrations
  • Step and apron flashing on walls and chimneys
  • Sealed to current Australian standards

Skylight and Vent Sealing

Skylights, vents and other roof penetrations are common leak points, especially as seals age. We inspect, reseal or replace flashing, and bring everything back to weathertight.

  • Skylight flashing replacement and resealing
  • Whirlybird and roof vent flashing repairs
  • Aerial and electrical penetration seals
  • Replacement of perished rubber and silicone seals

Barge and Rake Flashing

Barge and rake flashings finish off the edges of your roof and stop water tracking back under the sheeting. We replace damaged sections and re-fix loose ones properly.

  • Replacement of corroded or damaged barge cappings
  • Re-sealing along rake and gable edges
  • Custom profiles to match existing roof
  • Repair after storm or wind damage

Valley and Ridge Flashing

Valleys and ridges are where water gets concentrated and where most slow leaks begin. We replace damaged valleys and re-bed ridge caps so the roof drains properly.

  • Replacement of corroded or damaged valley irons
  • Re-bedding and re-pointing of ridge caps
  • Hip and ridge capping replacement
  • Flexible pointing for long-term durability

Straight Answer

Reseal It or Replace It?

Sometimes a tube of the right sealant is the fix. Sometimes it's hiding the problem. Here's how we decide.

Reseal makes sense if… Short visit

  • The flashing is sound and only the seal has perished
  • The leak is at a single penetration
  • Rubber boots or silicone have aged but the metal hasn't
  • Ridge caps are firm and only the pointing has cracked

Replace if… Custom-folded to match

  • The flashing has lifted, split or rusted
  • The flashing was undersized or dressed wrong originally
  • Valley irons are corroded or too narrow for the roof
  • The fascia behind it is rotten or the ridge caps are loose
Local Knowledge

Flashings and Fascia in the Illawarra

Flashings are where coastal corrosion shows first. On homes within a few kilometres of the beach, from Austinmer to Port Kembla and down to Kiama Downs, we use coastal-grade product on every edge and penetration because that is where the salt air does its work.

On older brick-and-tile homes around Fairy Meadow, Corrimal and Dapto, ridge pointing and valley irons are the common failures. On the newer Colorbond estates around Calderwood and Haywards Bay, it is more often a skylight or vent seal that has let go.

Either way, we'd rather fix the flashing in half a day than sell you a re-roof. If a re-roof really is the answer, we'll say so and show you why.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight Answers From People Who Know Roofing.

Is it the skylight or the flashing?

Nearly always the flashing or the seal around it. We inspect and reseal or re-flash; a skylight is only replaced if the unit itself has failed.

What does re-bedding and re-pointing mean?

Ridge and hip caps sit on a mortar bed with a flexible pointing compound over it. When the pointing cracks and the bed crumbles, caps move and leak. We rebed the caps and repoint with flexible pointing built for roof movement.

Can you match my existing flashing colour and profile?

Yes. Flashings are custom-folded on site from Colorbond or Zincalume to match the existing profile, and Colorbond colours cover most roofs in the Illawarra.

Do you replace fascia boards?

Yes. Rotten or sagging fascia is replaced and the gutters re-hung with new brackets so they hold their fall.

How quickly can a flashing leak be fixed?

Most single-penetration leaks are a half-day job once we're on site. We'll give you a timeframe with the fixed quote.

Will new flashing meet current standards?

Yes. Flashings and penetration seals are installed and sealed to current Australian standards, and we'll tell you if an older detail on the roof doesn't comply.
